Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Bob Hates You mobile application and related services ("Service"). By creating an account or playing the game, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The game

Bob Hates You is a trivia game show experience. Scores, timers, question difficulty, and other mechanics may change as we improve the product. The game requires an internet connection and a supported device.

2. Accounts

  • You must sign in with Google or Apple to play.
  • You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your device secure.
  • You must provide accurate information permitted by your sign-in provider.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or abuse the Service.

3. Acceptable use

Bob Hates You is built around research: looking up answers during the research phase (search engines, books, friends, and similar) is normal, intended gameplay.

You agree not to:

  • Use bots, scripts, macros, or other automation to play or submit scores
  • Exploit bugs, reverse engineer, tamper with, or interfere with the Service or its APIs
  • Manipulate leaderboards or scores through technical means
  • Harass others or attempt unauthorized access to our systems
  • Violate applicable laws or third-party rights

4. Scores and leaderboards

  • In-game points are fictional game-show currency, not real money.
  • Leaderboard rankings may be processed by Apple Game Center or Google Play Games.
  • We may adjust, reset, or remove scores that appear fraudulent or erroneous.

5. In-app purchases

Optional paid features (such as Time Rewind or Bank Tokens) may be offered through your platform's app store billing. All purchases are subject to the store's terms and refund policies. Prices and availability may change.

6. Intellectual property

The Service, including its original art, text, code, branding, and game design, is owned by the operator of Bob Hates You and protected by copyright and other laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for personal entertainment. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works except as allowed by law.

7. Trivia questions and content

Bob Hates You is a satirical game-show experience. Trivia questions and answers are provided for entertainment only. They may reference facts drawn from public sources (such as open encyclopedias and reference works). We do not guarantee that every question or answer is complete, current, or accurate.

We work to keep the question bank appropriate for a general-audience comedy trivia game, including automated and manual review before questions are published. However, we do not warrant that all content will be free of material you find offensive, insensitive, or objectionable. Questions may occasionally touch on mature, historical, or sensitive topics when those topics appear in the underlying source material.

If you encounter a question you believe is incorrect, misleading, or inappropriate, you may report it in the app during a run (tap the report control on the question screen). Reports are tied to your account and the question shown. We review reports and may edit, disable, or remove questions at our discretion, but we are not obligated to act on any particular report or to notify you of the outcome.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for trivia content, including any offense, distress, or reliance on information presented in questions or answers. Your use of trivia content is at your own risk.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $50.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by nature should survive termination will survive.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country provide otherwise.
